These lie between the existing Cahir Substation in the townland of Ballyhenebery, and the border with County Cork in the townland of Coolapreavan, crossing the County Tipperary townlands of: Ballyhenebery, Monaraha, Ballymacadam West, Killeenbutler, Garnavilla, Ballybrada, Cranna, Roosca (Hickey), Roosca (Burke), Crannavone, Killinure, Ballyhohan, Ballygarrane, Derravoher, Burges West, Curraghatoor, Kilroe, Kilbeg, Inchnamuck, Ballysheehan, Shanbally, Knockaarum, Cullenagh South, Carriganroe, Coolantallagh, Carrigavisteal, Dangan, Cooladerry, Knocknagapple and Coolapreavan. The development also includes 3 no. temporary construction compounds in the townlands of Killeigh, Garnavilla and Knockaarum. The works in County Tipperary will consist of: the replacement (“restringing”) of the existing overhead line (OHL) circuit conductor wires; replacement of 5 no. towers and 35 no. polesets with similar dimensions and heights as the existing; installation of replacement parts on towers and polesets; foundation refurbishment / strengthening and recapping / clearing of shear blocks; all associated site development works, including temporary works areas; clearance of shear block bases; vegetation maintenance works; ancillary site preparation works, site clearance and levelling at the 3 no. temporary construction compounds, temporary works to existing tracks and new temporary access routes to each structure; and all associated works required to facilitate the Proposed Development.   Description

  On very gradual SW-facing slope in gently undulating pastureland. There is no visible trace of the monument above ground. The field has been reclaimed but is very wet pasture. It is described as a levelled fulacht fia in the Cork-Dublin gas pipeline report (Cleary, Hurley and Twohig 1987, 7), though it was not excavated.   Description

  On a rocky height, in pasture. An amorphous enclosure, roughly triangular in shape (dims. c. 77m NE-SE; c. 54m NW-SE at N tapering to c. 25m at S) visible on satellite imagery (Google Earth satellite imagery, 20 January 2020), identified and reported by Jean-Charles Caillère. It is hachured on the 1907 revision of the OS 6-inch map as a triangular enclosure with a 382ft (116m) trigonometrical station on the N bank. It appears to be constructed of stone walling, now grass covered. The triangular enclosure appears to run up to an oval enclosure (TS086-049----) which occupies the NE angle.   Description

  On a rocky height, in pasture. An oval enclosure (dims. c. 33m NE-SE; c. 22m NW-SE) visible on satellite imagery (Google Earth satellite imagery, 20 January 2020), identified and reported by Jean-Charles Caillère. It forms the NE angle of a larger roughly triangular-shaped enclosure (TS086-048----). The triangular-shaped enclosure is hachured on the 1907 revision of the OS 6-inch map but there is a gap in the NE angle where the oval enclosure is located. The map shows a 382ft (116m) trigonometrical station on the N bank of the triangular-shaped enclosure. Both enclosures appear to be constructed of stone walling, now grass covered. The triangular enclosure appears to run up to an oval enclosure.
