- KD029-014001 Standing stone
Description
On a low glacial ridge. According to O’Conor, jointly compiling the OSL in 1839 (Herity 2002, 198 (279-80)), ‘It stood in a small earthen moat [KD029-014002-], but now lies on the ground, having been thrown down about 2 or 3 years ago.’ A long slender, rounded, granite pillar, lying prostrate (L 4.1m; Wth. 0.9m; T 0.65m). Two small crosses on the upper surface were probably incised sometime after the stone was thrown down. One quarter of the stone (L1.6m) is unsupported and overhangs (H 0.4m) the ground below. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 05 September 2013 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 93/1940).
- KD029-014002 Barrow - unclassified
Description
According to O’Conor, jointly compiling the OSL in 1839 (Herity 2002, 198 (279-80)), ‘It [a standing stone: KD029-014001-] stood in a small earthen moat, but now lies on the ground, having been thrown down about 2 or 3 years ago.’ The 'moat', which may have been a barrow, was described by Fitzgerald (1899-1902, 358) as, ‘now levelled’. Walshe (1931, 137) was told that when the stone was thrown down, “ashes” and “Dutch pipes” of clay were discovered beneath its base. No visible surface trace of the ‘moat’ survives. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 05 September 2013
- KD029-023 Stone circle
Description
On a slightly raised (H 0.3m) platform-like area, on a low pasture rise. A circle (diams. 30m N-S; 31m E-W) of mostly granite boulders, now numbering 27, but originally probably 47/48 contiguous stones. The interior rises gently towards the W. (Fitzgerald 1899-1902, 353-4 – includes photograph; Walshe 1931, 130; Ó Nualláin 1975, 112). A second stone circle (KD029-032----), now destroyed, stood c. 830m to the SSW in Whiteleas townland. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 12 September 2013 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 92/1940).

- KD029-033 Ringfort - rath
Description
On a moderately steep N-facing pasture slope. Shown on the 1st ed. (1838) of the OS 6-inch map as a large circular area enclosed by two concentric banks (est. ext. diam. c. 65m; int. diam. c. 40m) – a possible bivallate rath. However, the latest ed. (1939-40) of the map only shows the outer enclosing element SSE-W-N, acting as a field boundary, and this is what survives today: an overgrown broad, earthen bank (int H 0.9m; Wth 4.5m; ext H 1.6m) with a shallow outer fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 2.1m). The W interior is occupied by a modern farm shed and yard. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 16 September 2013
