  Description

  Detached seven-bay double-height Catholic church, built 1927-8; dedicated 1928, comprising six-bay double-height nave opening into single-bay double-height chancel (east) with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch to entrance (west) front on a half-octagonal plan. "Repaired", 1960. Renovated, ----, with sanctuary reordered. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles terminating in Cross finial to apex to entrance (west) front, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Roughcast walls bellcast over rendered plinth with roughcast buttresses having concrete or rendered coping. Lancet window openings with concealed dressings framing fixed-pane fittings having stained glass margins centred on leaded stained glass "lozenges". Lancet "Trinity Window" to chancel (east) with concealed dressings framing storm glazing over fixed-pane fittings having stained glass margins centred on leaded stained glass panels. Lancet "Trinity Window" to entrance (west) front in pointed-arch recess with concealed dressings framing fixed-pane fittings having stained glass margins centred on leaded stained glass "lozenges". Pointed-arch window opening to porch with concealed dressings framing storm glazing over fixed-pane fitting having stained glass margins centred on leaded stained glass panel. Square-headed opposing door openings with concealed dressings framing replacement glazed uPVC panelled double doors. Interior including vestibule (west) with stained glass window (undated); full-height interior open into roof with stained glass memorial "Trinity Window" (undated), carpeted central aisle between cruciform-detailed timber pews, paired Gothic-style timber stations between stained glass memorial windows (undated), exposed pointed-arch braced collared timber roof construction on beaded corbels with wind braced diagonal timber boarded ceiling on carved timber cornice, and pointed-arch chancel arch framing stepped dais to sanctuary (east) reordered, ----, with cut-veined white marble Gothic-style panelled altar below stained glass memorial "Trinity Window" (undated). Set in landscaped grounds with rendered piers to perimeter having concrete capping.
