Description
Detached multiple-bay single-storey railway station with attic, dated 1851, comprising central seven-bay single-storey block with dormer attic having gabled dormer window to platform (south) elevation, flanked by slightly lower two-bay single-storey block to east, and three-bay single-storey block to west, with further lower three-bay single-storey block to west again. Centre of entrance elevation has single-bay single-storey return with hipped roof, single-storey with attic return with pitched roof. Lower single-bay single-storey block to west end of same elevation, and single-bay single-storey projection to east end of same elevation. Slate roofs, pitched to main and west blocks, fishscale to east block, with cut and decoratively carved limestone chimneystacks and bellcote with no bell, and cut and carved eaves courses with corbel course to main block and dormer return, and with faux machicolation todormer window to platform elevation. Cut-stone copings, decoratively carved timber bargeboards, and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Gabled dormer of cut stone with paired triangular-headed windows with carved hood-mouldings and carved corbelled sill, with geometric glazing. Tooled snecked ashlar limestone walls with plinth course, carved star motif to taller rear return, carved datestone to gable to platform elevation, some dressed and rubble walls to entrance elevation and returns. Shouldered window openings with fixed timber windows to main block, double openings to platform elevation and double and triple to entrance elevation. Cast-iron traceried triple window to taller hipped projection of entrance elevation, and trio of triangular-headed window openings to entrance elevation of gabled projection to same elevation. Tudor arch window opening, now blocked to gabled projection. Square-headed window openings to west block with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows, square-headed multiple-pane fixed window to east gable, all windows having cut-stone surrounds and sills. Tudor arch door opening to platform elevation, with chamfered limestone surround, hood-moulding with carved label stops, and timber panelled door with sidelights and overlight. Pointed arch door opening to east block in slight gabled projection having date and decorative trefoil details to apex, timber panelled double-leaf door, sidelights and overlight. Tudor arch and square-headed door openings to west block, both with tooled block-and-start surrounds, cut-stone steps, and timber panelled doors, square-headed doorway being flanked by bootscrapes housed within wall. Five-bay single-storey red brick building to east of station, connected by cut-stone Tudor archway, having pitched slate roof with decoratively carved timber bargeboards, red brick walls with rounded moulded brick corners, and segmental-headed openings with moulded brick surrounds and cut-stone sills to windows, many blocked. Tarmacadam forecourt/car park to front. Located to northwest of Ballinasloe town adjacent to main road which is crossed by tracks.

Detached seven-bay single-storey goods store, built 1851, with single-bay full height addition to west gable. Pitched slate roof with cut limestone chimneystack with ceramic pots, and cut-stone copings and eaves course, and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Snecked limestone walls with stepped buttresses to gables and flanking windows of long walls. Tudor arch window openings high in long walls and gables, with chamfered tooled surrounds and sills, having fixed cast-iron small-pane windows. Pointed arch door opening to east gable, with cut-stone surround, opened blocked with metal sheet, and recent square-headed later openings with concrete lintels to ground floor. Located trackside to west of Ballinasloe Railway station.

Description
Detached single-storey railway station shelter, built 1851, having open side to platform (north) elevation. Pitched slate roof with decorative fish-scale slates, carved limestone eaves course, cast-iron rainwater goods, and raised rounded parapets to gables with pointed copings and corbelled kneelers. Snecked cut limestone walls, with plinth course to gables, corbelled course to rear elevation, timber boarding to to upper part of open side, and circular-profile cast-iron piers supporting same side. Round-headed window openings to gables with chamfered stone surrounds, hood-mouldings, and cast-iron lattice windows. Located south of Ballinasloe railway station, across railway tracks.

Description
Single-span cast-iron railway foot bridge, erected 1851, spanning Dublin to Galway railway line. Comprising flat deck with parapets of riveted sheets, stairways supported on square-plan arrangement of circular-profile columns with square-profile dosserets and cast-iron arches with decorative spandrels. Access to signal box from deck. Staircases sides treated similarly to bridge, with two flights interrupted by landings, latter supported on panelled square-profile cast-iron columns, with matching square-profile newel posts to foot of staircases. Cast-iron steps with nosings to treads.

Description
Detached three-storey signal box, built 1851, having gabled entrance porch to top floor, accessed from adjacent footbridge. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystack, timber bargeboards and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Red brick walls to lower stages with brick plinth course, and having recent tiled weatherboarding to top stage. Square-headed window to top floor of trackside elevation, wrapping around to half of each gable, with timber window, square-headed opening with metal framed window to south elevation, segmental-arch window openings to trackside elevation of lower floors with red brick voussoirs and masonry sills. Replacement glazed timber panelled door to top floor, accessed by footbridge.

Description
Single-span railway bridge, built 1851, carrying road over Dublin to Galway railway line. Cast-iron and steel central span supported on rock-faced rusticated limestone abutments with rounded ends and having cut-stone string course and carved stone copings to parapets. Cut limestone approach walls and causeway.
