Description
Situated on the SW-facing slope of a hill in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. c. 34m) surrounded by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3m; int. H 0.38; ext. H 2.86) and an external fosse (Wth 5.4m; H 1.25m). The interior is heavily overgrown with scrub. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Description
Situated on a very gradual W-facing slope in meadow. The site has been levelled and now consists of a circular area (diam. 41.2m N-S; 44.4m E-W) defined by a ring of differential growth indicating the former fosse (Wth 2.5m). The site was extant in 1970 when it was described as a circular area enclosed by a bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.8m) and fosse (Wth 3.6m; D 1.2m) (OPW file, 1970). Description
Located at the base of a SW-facing slope on slightly undulating ground in pasture. Depicted on the 1954-5 OS 6-inch revision as an irregular hollow. A roughly circular area (diam. 33.5m E-W), the S portion being truncated by a road on a NW-SE axis. The site is defined by an internal scarp (H 1.19m), a fosse (Wth 7.5m; D 1.24m) and an earthen outer bank (Wth 3.9m; ext. H 0.78m). There is a causeway in the NE quadrant. Old field banks abut the NW sector. The site is damaged by uprooted trees and cattle poaching. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
