  Description

  In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (c. 50m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.6m; ext. H 1.7m); external fosse (D 1.2m). Break in bank to N (Wth 4m); causewayed entrance (Wth 4.2m) to E. Interior slopes down gently to N; evidence for quarrying in NNW quadrant. Enclosure heavily overgrown with trees.   Description

  In pasture, tall roofless late 19th-century tower. Indicated on 1905 OS 6-inch map as lodge beside ringfort (12794) c. 20m to W, with avenue into Modeligo House (named on 1905 OS 6-inch map to N) in between. Avenue no longer survives. Square tower (2.9m E-W; 2.9m N-S; H c. 8m) of random-rubble sandstone construction with slight base batter. Door ope, stone arched with wooden lintel, in W wall; brick-arched windows in all four elevations. Slightly projecting embattled parapet wall. Internal walls have socket holes to support stairs; previous visit noted wooden stairway lying in nearby field. Roof collapsed. According to newspaper article (Cork Examiner 18/12/1931), built by Mr Braddell to view the hunt. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.   Description

  In pasture. Depicted as circular area (diam. c. 38m) planted with trees and enclosed by a solid line on 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps. According to local information, levelled during land reclamation in 1980s; consisted of 'small raised ring with trees'. May be a tree ring. Enclosure (13789) lies c. 80m to NW in same field.   Description

  In pasture. Depicted as diamond-shaped area (c. 40m N-S; c. 40m E-W) planted with trees and enclosed by solid line on 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps; sides slightly concave. According to local information, consisted of a 'ring', levelled during land reclamation in 1980s. May have been a tree ring, c. 250m to S of Modeligo House and on E side of avenue. • Modeligo House, house, 1760–1880 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached house, comprising four-bay two-storey block, built 1877, with two-bay gables having entrance to southern gable, bow to northern gable and lean-to single-bay two-storey addition recessed to east elevation, and lower house of c. 1780, being multiple-bay and two-storey and having lower single-bay two-storey link between blocks. Slate roofs throughout, hipped to later block, skirt hipped to linking block and pitched to main early block, with rendered chimneystacks to later block and brick and rendered to earlier block. Rendered walls and render plinth course to later block and to lean-to and rendered rubble limestone walls to earlier blocks. Timber sliding sash windows throughout. Later block has one-over-one pane windows, with continuous render sill course to first floor of main block, moulded render surrounds to windows of west elevation, continuous render sills to elliptical-headed windows of north elevation of lean-to, latter having margined stained-glass round-headed window to south elevation. Square-headed window openings to earlier blocks, with six-over-six pane windows, having double window to north elevation of link block, all with render sills. Segmental-headed entrance door opening with overlight and half-glazed timber panelled door to later block, square-headed door opening to south elevation of lean-to with overlight and timber battened door. Square-profile rubble limestone piers to road entrance with carved caps and cast-iron double-leaf gates.

• Modeligo House, folly, 1860–1880 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding square-plan two-stage castellated folly tower, built c. 1870, having slight batter to base. Rubble sandstone walls with string course to base of parapet and dressed sandstone copings to crenellations. Camber-headed window openings to top stage, with brick voussoirs. Pointed arch door opening with rubble sandstone voussoirs.
