Description
Situated on a gentle NE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.5-5m; H 1.6m), and an external fosse (Wth 2m), with an outer bank at the W (Wth 2.4-4m; H c. 0.8m). No indication of an entrance or internal features. The site is hachured on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). - WI034-001 Ringfort - rath
Description
Situated on a gentle E-facing slope. Circular area (dims. 32.6m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.8-5.5m; H 0.6-1.7m) with an entrance gap (Wth 2m) and a ramp at the NE. No indication of a fosse. The interior is traversed N-S by a modern field boundary. Another ringfort (WI034-002----) occurs c. 200m to the SE. Description
Situated on a gentle E/SE-facing slope. Circular area (dims. 23.8m N-S; 22.8m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2-2.3m; H 0.6-1.5m). Two gaps, at the ENE and NW, both c. 2m; neither appears to be original. No indication of a fosse or internal features. Another ringfort (WI034-001----) occurs c. 200m to the NW.
