  Description

  Situated on a N-facing slope of poorly drained ground in an upland area. A roughly circular area (diam. 34m) defined by a poorly preserved scarp (H 0.5m) from W to N only; elsewhere it has been destroyed. Not indicated on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map and may be related to a natural well and field drain located immediately to the W of the site. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. • TN022-007 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a N-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area. A circular area (diam. 21m N-S) enclosed by two earth and stone banks and intervening fosse (Wth 3m; D 1m) with a possible entrance gap (Wth 4.5m) at NE. The inner bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5m) is the best preserved while the outer bank (Wth 2.5m; H 0.7m) is destroyed at S by a field fence on an E-W axis.   Description

  Situated on a NE-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area on poorly drained land. A D-shaped area (diam. 25m N-S) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 2m; H 0.3m) reduced to a scarp in most places with possible entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) at SE. A modern drain intersects the site at NW on a NE-SW axis. No visible trace of a fosse. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.   Situated in grassland with stream and lime-kiln 25m to W. Ringfort (TN022-005----) 250m to N, second ringfort (TN022-007----) 300m to SSE and enclosure (TN022-006----) 300m to S. Modern housing development 15m to N. Circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 32m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank and external fosse with suggestion of an external bank visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011.
