- KD035-036 Church
Description
In a graveyard (KD035-036001-). Described in Archbishop Bulkeley’s Visitation of Dublin, 1630, ‘Nicholston. The church and chauncell are ruinous, the land waste, and noe body livith on it.’ (Ronan 1941b, 94). A ruined rectangular structure (traceable L 11m E-W; Wth 4.8m N-S) defined mainly by grassed-over wall footings. A short section of the S wall still stands (L 3.6m; T 0.55m; H 1m), built of randomly coursed mortared limestone rubble masonry, and the external NE angle survives (H0.5m) incorporated into a later burial plot. The interior is disturbed by burials. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 20 December 2013
- KD035-036001 Graveyard
Description
On a low knoll in tillage. A large rectangular area (c. 70m ENE-WSW; c. 40m NNW-SSE) which was extended E-wards in modern times is enclosed by a stone wall (H 1.5m). Legible gravemarkers date from the 19th-century to the present, the graveyard being still in use. A ruined church (KD035-036----) lies NW of centre. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 20 December 2013

When upstanding, the monument was apparently avoided by a later road which bends SW-W-NW around it. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 20 December 2013

Description
In tillage. Visible on aerial photographs (CUCAP AVM 12 (1968), CUCAP BDH 71 (1970) and Barrett GB90.BT.23 (1990)) as the soilmark of a small uncultivated area forming the NE corner of a larger rectangular area (est. L c. 65m ESE-WNW; c. 45m NNE-SSW) defined by the cropmark of a fosse. Regarded locally as being a burial ground.
