Situated on an area of exposed karst (dims c. 200m N-S; c. 130m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes generally down to the SE. Subrectangular area (int. dims 16m E-W; 12.4m N-S) defined by drystone walls (Wth 0.6m-1m; H up to 1m), with a rectangular enclosure (int. dims 3.3m E-W; 2.4m N-S) defined by drystone walls attached to the N end of the E side. On an area of exposed karst (dims c. 200m N-S; c. 130m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes down generally to the SE. Description
Located on an area of exposed karst (dims c. 370m N-S; c. 130-200m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes generally down to the SE. A low wall (L c. 50m; Wth c. 0.5m; H c. 0.5m) runs E-W across the karst, but cannot be seen at either end where the bog resumes. This wall is situated c. 100m SE of the wedge tomb (LE006-033----), and c. 150m S of sheepfold (LE006-030003-). Traces of another wall (L 10m) run S from this sheepfold and meet another slight E-W wall (L c. 34m). At its W end this wall turns SW (L c. 18m) to hut-site (LE006-030012-). Description
Structure Situated on an area of exposed karst (dims c. 370m N-S; c. 130-200m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes generally down to the SE. Grass and heather-covered subcircular area (int. dims 54m E-W; 49m N-S) defined by a collapsed wall (Wth 1-2m; H 0.3m) with no visible entrance. There are subrectangular hut sites attached to the enclosing feature at ENE (int. dims 2.8m x 2.4m), W (int. dims 2m x 2m) and at WNW (int. dims 3m x 2m). - LE006-033 Megalithic tomb - wedge tomb
Description
Located on a slight rise on the heather-covered karst plateau which slopes SE from Truskmore, with numerous swallow-holes in the vicinity. A wedge-shaped cairn (dims 9m E-W; 3.5m N-S at E to 6.5m N-S at W) is revetted with drystone-walling and orthostats. It contains a gallery (int. dims 3m E-W; 1.8m N-S) which is separated from the portico (max. dims 4.5m E-W; 2.3m N-S) by a possible septal slab and later drystone wall. There are two roofstones in position, and the portico is blocked by a line of upright slabs which completes the façade at W. - LE006-034 Cairn - unclassified
Description
Located at the E edge of an area of exposed karst (dims c. 200m N-S; c. 130m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes generally down to the SE. This is a long cairn (dims 41m N-S; Wth 7.3m at S to 11.5m at N; max. H 1m) with drystone wall revetting visible in places. Originally it may have been four separate cairns, indicated by circular concentrations of stone within the cairn. There is a possible chamber (dims c. 2m x 1.3m) at the N end, but there are no distinctive features. It may be a court tomb.
