Description
It is situated on the N bank of an E-W mountain stream. It is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map with a house c. 200m to SW. This is a circular corbelled chamber (diam. 1.6-1.7m; H 2m) with an entrance (Wth 0.6m; H 0.55m) at ESE. The chamber is built into a natural slope and is almost completely invisible. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). Description
Situated on the W bank of a N-S section of an E-W mountain stream, but it is described as a 'Sweat Ho.' only on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map with a house c. 80m to the SSE. This is a circular stone-built chamber (int. diam. 1.1m; H 0.9m) with a lintelled entrance (Wth 0.5m) at ESE, but the roof does not survive. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003).
