Description
Marked as a small circular enclosure on the 1837 (diam. c. 15m) and 1914 (diam. c. 22m) eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the NW-facing slope of a broad drumlin. Description
On the gentle S-facing slope of a broad low hill. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 25m N-S; c. 25m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3-4.8m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 0.4m) W-N and a scarp (H 0.4m) N-E and SW-W, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.3-5m; D 0.3-0.45m) SW-W-NE. There is no identifiable original entrance, and the monument is truncated by a N-S field bank and drain at E and an E-W field bank and townland boundary with Dangan (King) at S, beyond which is a farm track. Description
Towards the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin. Subcircular grass-covered but poached area (dims 26.3m E-W; 22.5m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-4.2m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.3-0.9m) S-SW which is incorporated into a field bank with an inner drain W-NE, and a scarp (max. H 0.9m) elsewhere. There is an outer fosse (Wth of top 2m at S to 3.8m at N; D 0.1-0.5m) SE-S and NW-N, but there is no visible entrance. Rath (RO012-010----) is c. 140m to the SE. Description
Towards the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin with Lowfield Lough (diam. c. 350m) c. 160m to the SE. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 37m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.9-4m; int. H 0.2-0.55m; ext. H 0.65-0.8m) SSW-N, and a scarp (max. H 0.9m) elsewhere. There is an outer fosse (Wth of top 3-4.3m; D 0.1-0.3m) E-SW and W-NW, with an outer bank (Wth 3.8m; ext. H 0.2-0.3m) E-SE which is continued by a berm (Wth 4.3m) defined by a scarp (H 0.2m) SE-S.
