  Description

  On a gentle E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.5m N-S) defined by a gapped earthen bank (Wth 2m at W to 3.7m at E (downslope); int. H 0.1m at E to 0.55m at SW; ext. H 0.5m at W to 1.3m at E) SW-NW and E-SE, and elsewhere by a scarp (H 0.5m at S to 0.95m at N), with an outer fosse (Wth of base 2-3.2m; D 0.2m) at SE and SW, represented by a band of wet ground (Wth 2m) E-S-NW. • RO016-073 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a gentle E-facing slope. Described as a circular area (diam. 33m) defined by an earthen bank with an entrance at SE (Gannon 1972). Circular grass-covered area (diam. 28m) defined by a gentle scarp (H 1-1.25m) which is best preserved S-N-E. Rath (RO016-072----) is c. 180m to the WNW and rath (RO016-100----) is c. 180m to the WSW.   Description

  On a knoll on an E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.8m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1.1) SW-NW and by a scarp (H 0.8m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

• RO016-100 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On the E-facing slope of a W-E spur. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 47m N-S) defined by a gapped earthen bank (Wth 2.85-3.3m; int. H 0.25-0.5m; ext. H 0.45-0.9m) SE-W-NNW which is reduced to a scarp with some bushes (H 0.9m) elsewhere, and traces of a complete outer fosse in a band of reeds. There is no visible entrance and some spoil obscures the perimeter at SW. Rath (RO016-099----) is c. 140m to the WSW, rath (RO072----) is c. 90m to the N and rath (RO016-073----) is c. 180m to the ENE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  Marked as a circular feature (diam. c. 40m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a gentle SE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 30m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.6m; ext.
