  Description

  On a gentle ENE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 37.2m NE-SW; 35.3m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 8.8m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.85m) and outer fosse (at NNE: Wth of top 6.7m; Wth of base 1.6m; ext. D 0.3m) NW-NE, but the perimeter is reduced to a low scarp elsewhere. The monument is overlain by a NW-SE field wall that meets a NE-SW field wall and townland boundary with Ballyglass towards the perimeter at SE. The rath (RO042-082----) is c. 130m to the NW.   Description

  Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 45m) only on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the crest of a NW-SE spur. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 40m NNW-SSE; 35.5m ENE-WSW) defined by a slight scarp (H c. 0.2m) that is overlain by an E-W field wall and townland boundary with Lisdaulan at N. • RO042-085 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1837 and 1915 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a shoulder of the ENE-facing slope of a NW-SE spur. Rectangular grass-covered, but poached area (int. dims 33.8m NE-SW; 31m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 3.8-4.6m; int. H 0.9-1.2m; ext. H 0.85-1.55m), and a flat-bottomed fosse or moat (Wth of top 3.3m; Wth of base 1.2m; D 0.4m) at the W end of the SW side. There are five entrances, any of which might be original, but the enclosure does not show any signs of alteration into its present shape. • RO045-011 Enclosure - large enclosure
  Description

  On a rise of a gentle E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 76m NE-SW; 73m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.4-4.4m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.3-1.2m), which is overgrown E-SW, separated by a fosse (at SE: Wth of top 7.3m; Wth of base 2.2m) from an outer bank (at SE: Wth 6.4m; int. H 1.3m; ext. H 0.35m) that is best preserved NE-SE (max. ext. diam. 86m NW-SE). There is an entrance (Wth 3.7m) through both banks at NE. The interior is cut by a NW-SE field wall and townland boundary SW of the centre and a field bank runs SW from this in Curraghnaveen townland. There is also a relict NW-SE field wall with a spur off to the E in Ballyglass and some clearance cairns in the interior. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1837 ed. and as a D-shaped area (dims c. 35m E-W; c. 30m N-S) on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, Situated at the crest of a N-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level, but a saddle quern (dims 0.46m x 0.44m; H 0.22m) from here with a steep-sided oval depression (dims 0.33m x 0.22m) on one surface is kept at a nearby farmhouse.   Towards the top of a NE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.5m NW-SE) defined by a slight scarp or broad rise, which is incorporated into a field bank at NW. The rath (RO045-012001-) is c. 50m to the W, and raths (RO045-017----; RO045-016----; RO045-015----; RO045-014----) are c. 210m to the E, 200m to the ESE, 140m to the SE and 90m to the SSE respectively.
