  Description

  At the E end of a low E-W ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 36m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.25m; int. H 0.2-0.35m; ext. H 0.7-0.75m) SW-NW and E-SSE, which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5m at S to 1m at N) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse, but the entrance (Wth 3.8m) is at E and the interior is overlain by a disused NW-SE field bank towards the perimeter at SW.   Description

  Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towads the bottom of the W-facing slope of a rise.   Description

  Towards the top of the SW-facing slope of a rise in a low-lying landscape. Oval grass-covered area (dims. 50m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5m at NW to 9m at NE; int. H 0.25-1.2m; ext. H 1.2-1.4m) at NW, NE-E and S-SW, which is reduced to a scarp (H 1m) elsewhere. The interior is overlain by an ENE-WSW field bank, hedge and drain towards the perimeter at SE.   Description

  On a rise in a low-lying landscape. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 32m NW-SE, 27m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 3.2-3.6m; int. H 0.1-0.45m; ext. • RO006-163 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  On a level, low-lying landscape. Circular grass and rush-covered platform (diam. 27-27.5m; H 0.6-0.7m) defined by a fosse (Wth of top 14-15.2m) with an outer earthen bank (Wth 4.6m at E to 7.9m at N; int. H 0.2m at S to 0.75m at E; ext. H 0.3m at W to 0.7m at E). A second complete fosse (Wth of top 8m at S to 12.5m at W) is surrounded by a second outer bank (Wth 3.8-5.4m; int. H 0.1-0.95m; ext. H 0.1-0.8m) W-N-S with a third fosse (Wth of top 3.8m at N to 8.5m at E; D 0.05m at N to 0.75m at E) W-N-SE. A NNW-SSE drain cuts the outer fosse at W, and an ENE-WSW drain cuts the outer fosse at S (max. ext. dims c. 110m E-W; c. 100m N-S). Barrow (RO006-164----) is c. 50m to the S. Archaeological monitoring (03E0070) c. 100m to the NNE during 2003 failed to produce any related material (Read 2006b). See the attached aerial images taken from the NW (001) and NE (002).   Description

  Visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: G 149-150), and situated on a level, low-lying landscape. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 24m) defined by a scarp (H 0.1-0.2m) and an outer band of wet ground (Wth 4-4.5m) SE-NE. The large ring-barrow (RO006-163----) is c. 50m to the N.   Description

  On a steep-sided NE-SW ridge with rock outcrop in a low-lying landscape. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 26m NE-SW; c. 15m NW-SE) defined by a grass-covered stone spread with some bushes (Wth 1.75-2.25m; int. H 0.1-0.5m; ext. H 0.6-0.8m) SW-N-NE which backs onto a cliff edge (H c. 5m) at SE. There is no visible entrance, but there are some quarries in the interior.   Description

  Description

  Visible as a circular feature on aerial photographs (GSIAP: G 149-50), and situated towards the bottom of a S-facing slope overlooking a SW-NE stream, c. 70m distant. Circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 35.5m N-S; 34m E-W) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 1.3m at W to 2.9m at S; int. H 0.1m at W to 0.8m at E; ext. H 0.1m at N to 1m at S).
