- SL019-115 Stone circle
Description
Situated in gently undulating pasture. Not marked on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Roughly circular, raised level area (diam. 25m) defined by a low scarp (H 0.5m). Six large boulders set at irregular intervals form a kerb at E and S. At W and N the scarp has been incorporated into linear field boundaries. In the basal course of the N side of the wall at W are up to 18 closely-set large stones which are probably displaced kerb stones. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
- SL019-122 Enclosure
Description
Situated on a gentle E-facing slope in undulating pasture. Not marked on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. On an aerial photograph (ACP V203/118-9, Roll 125, Pr. 24, SMR file) it appears as an oblong enclosure. At the location indicated is a low, roughly oval rise (c. 27m E-W; c. 22m N-S) with a fairly level top and broadly sloping sides. This appears to be a naturally-occurring low hillock or ridge. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
- SL019-125 Mound
Description
Situated in level pasture. Not marked on the 1837 edition of 6-inch map. Described by a archaeological fieldworker in 1981 (SMR (1989) file) as 'a small flat-topped irregular-shaped mound some 7m in diameter and 70cm high'. Although grass-covered some stone was visible. The fieldworker believed that it may have been 'no more than a clearance cairn'. The site has since been levelled and there are no remains now visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
- SL019-126 Enclosure
Description
Situated atop a steep S-facing slope in pasture. Not marked on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The W enclosure comprises a slightly raised D-shaped area (dims. 22m E-W; 15.5m N-S) defined from NW-N-SW by a low, partially sod-covered heap of loose stones (Wth. 2.5m - 3m; int. H 0.1m - 0.2m). The straight side, from SW-W-NW, is formed by a N-S field boundary wall. Original entrance not recognisable. Adjoining the E part of this enclosure is a subrectangular raised area (dims. 19.6m N-S; 12m E-W) defined by a sod-covered wall (Wth. 2.2m; int. H 0.6m) which survives mainly as a scarp at S (H 1.15m). Inside the wall from N-NNE-NE is a low terrace (Wth. 1.4m; H 0.4m). Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
