  Description

  In pasture. Indicated on the 1st (1839-40) ed. OS 6-inch map and the 1945-6 revision as a circular enclosure (int. diam. c. 30-35m) enclosed by wide fosse (Wth c. 8m). A townland boundary runs immediately W of the monument, kinking out to avoid it. It is heavily overgrown with trees. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 15 September 2020

  Description

  In tillage. An aerial photograph (GB91.EH.06, 17 July 1991; ASIAP (20) 0-6, August 1996) shows a cropmark of a rectilinear enclosure (dims. c. 48m NW-SE; c. 40m NE-SW at NW and c. 43m at SE) defined by a fosse; the fosse is indented on the W side. Aerial photograph (GB99.GG.03, 12 July 1999) also shows two linear fosses extending from the enclosure indicative of an associated field system (KK019-128----). A dark green cropmark within the enclosure suggests internal structures, possibly a souterrain (KK019-129----). The enclosure is also visible on satellite imagery (Google Earth Pro, 27 January 2019 and 21 April 2019). An aerial photograph (GB99.GG.03, 12 July 1999) shows a cropmark of two linear fosses extending northwestward for at least c. 55m from the NW side of a rectilinear enclosure (KK019-127----) and the suggestion of two other fosses extending southeastward for at least c. 40m from the SE side, indicative of an associated field system. A dark green cropmark within the enclosure suggests internal structures, possibly a souterrain (KK019-129----).
