Description
In undulating pasture. Circular area (34m N-S; 32m E-W), enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.2m) and external fosse (D 0.9m). Low, outer earthen bank (H 0.5m), levelled on E where it is overlain by stone field fence. Entrance on SE (Wth 4.8m) with causeway. Souterrain (MA118-084002-) in interior. Stone field fence bisects site roughly E to W. The above description has been derived from D. Description
In interior of ringfort (MA118-084001-). Two stone-built chambers; may have been connected originally. Chamber 1 (L 5.7m NW-SE; H 1.5m) largely infilled, contains two air vents. W is Chamber 2 (L c. 22m N-S), collapsed from mid-point to S end. N end inaccessible at time of survey. The above description has been derived from D.
