Description
On a low NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered but poached platform (diam. 32.8m E-W; 32.5m N-S; H 0.4-0.55m) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 3.3-4.4m; D 0.1-0.4m) from an outer bank (Wth 3.8-5.2m; H 0.2-0.6m). There is no visible entrance, but there are traces of a second outer fosse in a band of rushes (Wth 2.5-3m) N-NE and SE-SSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
- RO001-010 Ringfort - rath
Description
Not depicted on any OS map, this rath is visible as a circular feature on aerial photographs (GSIAP: G 274-5), and is situated on the summit of a NW-SE ridge. It is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.6m NNW-SSE; 33m ENE-WSW) defined by a scarp (H 1.5-1.65m), with a slight fosse (Wth of top 6-6.6m; D 0.1m) NE-ESE which is visible as a wet area NW-NE. There is no identifiable original entrance, but the monument was planted with trees, now removed, and is overlain by a NW-SE avenue. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, and still in use. Comprising fluted cylindrical shaft with domed cap and replacement tap. Set on roadside pavement.

Description
Detached four-bay three-storey house, built c.1880, comprising post office to ground floor. Return and extension to rear, now abutting two-storey house to east and west. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks. Pebbledashed façade with quoins and sill course and render to gables and rear. Shopfront comprises two large display windows with centrally placed door approached by a number of stone steps. Stucco fascia panel. Timber sash windows with stucco surrounds. Timber panelled door with overlight, serving passageway and upper floors. Two outbuildings to rear comprising two-storey rendered outbuilding with slate roof and a single-storey outbuilding with corrugated-iron roof. Wrought-iron gate to north-east of house. Sandstone flags to passageway and to shop floor. Wainscoting to interior with timber panelled counters. Building fronts onto street.

Description
Tooled ashlar gate piers, erected c.1850, providing access to Alderford House. Comprising carved panel with raised-and-fielded moulding and surmounted by rectangular profile cap. Gates to pedestrian gate way to north survive. Cast-iron gates with decorative finials.

Description
Detached seven-bay two-storey house, built c.1810, with two-storey return to rear and coursed sandstone walls connecting house to ruinous outbuilding. Hipped slate roof with ridge tiles and corbels to eaves. Rendered chimneystacks. Roughcast render to walls. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Tripartite window to gable ends and above front door. Centrally-placed timber panelled double doors flanked by Doric columns surmounted by petal fanlight. Timber and glazed double doors to ground floor of southern elevation. Farmyard to north-west of house with random coursed boundary walls with sandstone entrance arch and two-storey outbuilding with integral carriage arches. Entrance to house through tooled stone gate piers with carved lion finials and cast-iron gate.
