  Description

  Towards the bottom of the gentle W-facing slope of Slieve Bawn. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 34.8m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 4.8m at NE to 7m at NW; Wth of top 2.2-3.1m; int. H 0.2m at NW to 0.8m at NE; ext. H 0.6m at NE to 1.6m at SE), which is reduced to a scarp W-NW. There is no identifiable original entrance or fosse, although a pond (dims 25m E-W; 5m N-S; D 1.2m) has been dug outside the perimeter NW-NE. Earthwork (RO029-107----) is c. 130m to the SE. • RO029-105 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Towards the bottom of the gentle NW-facing slope of Slieve Bawn. Subcircular overgrown area (dims 39m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.3m; int. H 1.1-1.4m; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) and an outer fosse (at E: Wth of top 3.5m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.4m) NNW-E-SW. There is an entrance (Wth 2m) at SE, and a drystone wall (Wth 0.5m; H 0.5m) is built on top of the bank all around. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  At the N end of a low S-N spur at the W foothills of Slieve Bawn. Circular overgrown area (diam. 40.9m E-W; 38.9m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-5.9m; int. H 0.3m at E to 1.1m at W; ext. H 0.6m at E to 1.6-1.9m generally). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance.   Description

  Marked as a small circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the bottom of the W-facing slope of Slieve Bawn. It is not visible at ground level in pasture. Rath (RO029-104----) is c. 130m to the NW, rath (RO029-106----) is c. 170m to the NE, and rath (RO029-108----) is c. 100m to the E.   Description

  Towards the bottom of the W-facing slope of Slieve Bawn. Circular scrub-covered area (diam. 40m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.6-3m; int. H 0.5-0.7m; ext. H 1.2-1.3m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 3.7-3.8m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.5-0.8m). There is an entrance (Wth 1.6m), probably modern, at WSW.   Description

  Towards the bottom of the W-facing slope of Slieve Bawn. Circular rush and grass-covered area (diam. 38m N-S; 36m E-W) defined by an overgrown, round-topped earthen bank (Wth 3.4-4.5m; int. H 0.4m at N to 1.6m at W; ext. H 0.9-1.1m), which is incorporated into a field bank SE-SW and almost reduced to a scarp at NW and NE, and a fosse (Wth of top 3.8-6.7m; Wth of base 2.3-2.8m; D 0.5-0.9m).
