- RO028-040 Ringfort - rath
Description
At the N-facing crest of a broad hill. This is an oval or D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 50.6m NW-SE; 34m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank which is incorporated into a field bank and hedge (Wth 3-4.5m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 0.6-1.4m) W-N-SE, although replaced by a field wall W-NW. The fosse (Wth of top 7.5m; Wth of base 3.5m; ext. D 1.2m) is only visible W of this field wall, and the original entrance cannot be identified. The perimeter is truncated by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.3m) SE-W. - RO028-043 Ringfort - rath
Description
At the SW-facing crest of a broad hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 40.3m E-W; 40.2m N-S; 37.8m) defined by a complete earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 2.5-3m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 0.4-0.6m), which is incorporated into a field bank (Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.5m) with external facing stones SE-SW. There is no visible fosse, while the original entrance (Wth 2.8m) at SE has been widened and a gap (Wth 9m) has been made at SW. Rath (RO028-040----) is c. 150m to the N and standing stone (RO028-228----) is c. 60m to the ESE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

Description
On a SW-facing slope. Oval grass-covered area (int. dims 42.6m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered earth and stone spread (Wth 5-8m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m-1m) with the remains of the stone spread of a wall (Wth 1-1.5m; H 0.1-0.3m) on top. There is no identifiable original entrance, but the perimeter is quarried (dims 11m NW-SE; 3m NE-SW) at NE.
