  Description

  At the crest towards the NW end of a low NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 40.3m E-W; 37.6m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at W: Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m; generally: Wth 4-4.3m; int. H 0.45-0.9m; ext. H 1.1-1.3m), with internal facing stones E-SE, which is separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of base 4.3-5.7m; D 0.1-0.3m) from the base of a destroyed bank (Wth 4.7-5.8m; ext. H 0.1-0.4m), which cannot be traced S-SW. This is surrounded by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of base 4.2-4.8m) and a third outer overgrown bank (Wth 3.5-5,5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.7-0.9m) which survives SE-W-NW and can be traced as a low mound (Wth 5-6.2m; int. H 0.1-0.2m; ext. H 0.1-0.4m) at N and NE-SE. There is a widened entrance (Wth 5m) through the inner bank at SE (max. ext. diam. 84.2m E-W; 83.8m N-S). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  At the crest of a NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 44.9m E-W; 42.5m N-S) defined by a flat-topped but gapped earthen bank (Wth of base 3.1-3.4m; Wth of top 1.2m generally to 2.4m at W; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.5m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 4.7-5.9m; Wth of base 2.3-3.4m; D 0.4m at S to 0.7-1m generally) from a flat-topped outer bank (Wth of base 3.1-4.1m; Wth of top 1-2m; ext. H 0.5-1.3m). The entrance through the inner (Wth 3.6m) and outer (Wth 7.4m) banks and the causeway (Wth 8.5m) are at NE.   Description

  At the crest towards the SE end of a NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 42m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.1m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1m) SW-NW and by a slight bank with some bushes (Wth 1.5-2m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.5-0.8m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance.   Description

  On the crest of a low NW-SE ridge. Circular area (diam. 38.4m N-S; 37.5m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.2m at E to 4.6-5m generally; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.4m at E to 1.2-1.4m generally) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 4m at E and W to 6m at N and S; ext. D 0.3-0.5m N-E to 1.2-1.4m S-W) from an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-4.8m; ext. H 0.5-0.7m). A second fosse (Wth of top 3-4m; Wth of base 2.4-2.9m; ext. D 0.4m) and a third overgrown bank (Wth 2-3m; ext. H 0.2-0.3m) survive WSW-NNE. There is no identifiable original entrance, although there are later entrances at N and S. A N-S field bank towards the perimeter at E incorporates the inner bank NE-SE, but has removed much of the outer features to the E, and an E-W field bank towards the perimeter at S similarly incorporates the inner bank SE-SW while removing the outermost bank SE-WSW (max. ext. diam. 62m N-S; 61m E-W).   On a gentle S-facing slope. Subcircular scrub-covered area (dims 37m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.4-4.2m; int. H 0.4-0.9m; ext. H 0.5m at W to 1.3m at E), which is incorporated into a field bank SW-NW, and an outer round-bottomed fosse (at E: Wth of top 5.5m; Wth of base 2.4m; D 0.1m) NW-E-SW. There is no visible entrance.
