Description
At The E end of Lough Meelagh (dims c. 2km E-W; c. 600m-1km N-S), c. 110-130m from the N, E and S shores. Circular overgrown mound (diam. 22.5m N-S; 20.5m E-W; H c. 1m) of earth and stones with timbers visible in the surrounding waters to the W, N and E. Crannog (RO004-061----) is c. 100m to the NW. Monitoring of the construction of a slipway during 2007 on the shore c. 100m to the SE failed to produce any related material (Bangerter 2010). See the attached view from the shore at SE. Description
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and sitauted towards the top of the W-facing slope of a drumlin. Described as two grass-covered heaps of loose stones (dims. 6m x 2m; 3m x 1m) (deValera and O'Nuallain 1972, 41). There is now only one (dims. 3m x 1.5m) surviving. It is not an antiquity. Description
On top of a drumlin. Oval grass and rush-covered but poached platform (dims. 31m E-W; 25.5m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.3-0.5m), with a fosse represented by a band of rushes (Wth 2.3-3m) NE-NW. At the crest of a low E-W rise. Oval grass and scrub-covered platform (dims 40m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.8m at E to 1.9m generally), which is planted with a hedge NW-NE. Description
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Built into a field bank on the NE-facing slope of a drumlin above Keadew village and now conserved in the village park. Grass-covered mound (dims 4.7m NW-SE; 2.6m NE-SW; H 1.7m) containing a circular, drystone-built chamber (diam. 1.3m; H 1.5m) with vertical walls and a lintelled roof. Description
On a low rise. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 28.5m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.7-3m; int. H 0.2-0.7m; ext. H 0.7-0.9m) SE-W-ENE, which is surmounted by the foundations of a stone wall (Wth 0.8m) SSW-ENE. The site is slightly truncated by a NNE-SSW field bank at SE. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Description
Detached four-bay two-storey former R.I.C. barracks, built c.1860 and altered in 1932, with return to rear. Now used as a garda station. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and terracotta pots. Pebbledashed walls with plinth. Timber sash windows with painted sills. Two entrances to station comprising timber panelled doors with overlights. Single-storey outbuilding to rear with corrugated-iron roof. Building fronts on to street.

Description
Pair of semi-detached three-bay two-storey houses, built c.1920, with canted bays to ground-floor and extension to rear. Hipped tiled roofs with rendered chimneystacks. Render to walls with chanelling and quoins. Timber sash windows. Centrally-placed timber panelled doors with sidelights. Single-storey outbuildings to rear with corrugated-iron roof. Houses front onto street.
- Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, church/chapel, 1850–1870 · Regional interest
Description
Detached Roman Catholic church, built c.1860, to a design by J.J. McCarthy. Seven-bay nave, side aisles, projecting gable-fronted entrance porch to south and sacristy to north-east. Pitched slate roof with western gable surmounted by bellcote and stone cross finial. Slate lean-to roofs to side aisles with stone chimneystack to sacristy. Snecked rock-faced walls with tooled limestone quoins and sandstone and limestone buttresses. Cut stone surrounds and hood mouldings to all openings. Pointed-arched windows with traceried windows to gables and eastern end of side aisles. Pointed- and shouldered-arched doorways with timber battened doors. Interior altered with the addition of a screen between nave and chancel. Church is set back from the road in own grounds.
- Presbytery/parochial/curate's house, 1840–1880 · Regional interest
Description
Detached three-bay two-storey parochial house, built c.1860, with projecting gable fronted entrance porch added to facade and return and extension to rear. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and torus-moulded red brick dentil eaves course. Pebbledashed walls. Replacement uPVC windows, with central pointed-arched stained glass window to first-floor. Single-storey outbuilding to rear with yellow brick surrounds to openings, partially rebuilt with concrete blocks. House set back from road facing St. Mary's Church. Bounded by random coursed wall with cut stone piers and cast-iron gate.

Description
Cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, now disused. Comprised of banded shaft, fluted neck and cap with finial. The spout has foliated decoration where it meets the neck. Recessed back from the road with semi-circular-plan stone wall.
