  Description

  On a low rise on the NW-facing slope of a broad NE-SW ridge. Oval grass-covered area (dims 40m E-W; 28.5m N-S) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 2.4m at E to 5.5m at S; int. H 0.35m at E to 0.8m at W; ext. H 0.4m at E to 0.9m at S) NE-S-WNW and a scarp (H 0.5m) elsewhere. There is no visible entrance, but a NW-SE drystone wall and townland boundary with Toormore overlies the interior towards the perimeter at E and a NE-SW wall overlies the perimeter at NW.   Description

  In a flat-bottomed, grass-covered D-shaped quarry (dims. of top 14-6m NNW-SSE; 10m ENE-WSW; dims. of base 7.5m NNW-SSE; 6.3m ENE-WSW; D 1-1.4m generally to 1.7m at N) at the crest of the N-facing slope of an E-W ridge. A tongue of unexcavated material (dims. 2.2m N-S; 1m E-W; H 1m) attached to the E side of the pit is said locally to be where Mass was celebrated.
