Description
Marked as a D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 35m E-W; c. 20m N-S) only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a gentle NE-facing slope. The arc of a bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. - RO048-184 Ringfort - rath
Description
Towards the bottom of a W-facing slope. Subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 28m E-W; 19.5m N-S at W to 24.5m N-S at E) defined by an earthen bank on all sides except E where it merges into the slope, but the bank is most substantial at W (Wth 5m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H. 1.25m). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, and an oval depression (dims 9.2m E-W; 6.7m N-S; D 0.3m) is 9m E of the enclosure. It is regarded locally as a rath, which it probably is. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
