  Description

  Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map in a bend in a N-S field drain, and situated on a flat, low-lying, peat-covered landscape. Circular grass-covered mound (diam. 13.3m N-S; H 0.4-0.6m) with a drain curving around it to the E. Crannog (RO008-049002-) is c. 20m to the N on the other side of an E-W drain. • RO008-050 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a level, low-lying landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31.6m N-S; 30.6m E-W) defined by a an earthen bank (Wth 3.6-3.9m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.6m at E to 1.2m at N) separated by a fosse (Wth of base 1.3m at E to 3m at S; D 0.4-0.6m) from an outer bank (at S: Wth 2.7m; H 0.3m), which is incorporated into a N-S field bank W-WNW and removed WNW-N. There is an entrance (Wth 1.4m) in the inner bank and a causeway (Wth 3m) at E, but the outer bank is eroded here. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

• RO008-051 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a low knoll. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 44.5m N-S; 42.8m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4-4.9m; int. H 0.3-0.7m; ext. H 1.3m at E to 1.9m at N to 2.7m S-W), and a fosse (Wth of base 2.5-4.5m; D 0.2m) SW-W-NE. There is a modernised entrance (Wth 4.1m) at ESE, and an E-W road immediately S of the bank at S.
