  Description

  Detached irregular-plan three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820, with breakfront and two-bay extension to south to façade, added c.1860. Extensions to north. Abutting terrace to west. Once used as guest house, now vacant. Pitched slate roofs with cut stone and rendered chimneystacks and skylights. Stack with seven diagonal chimneys to west elevation of southern extension with terracotta pots. Timber brackets to eaves. Ruled-and-lined render to walls with cut stone quoins and tooled stone to window surrounds. Timber sash windows throughout, including some tripartite and margined sashes to extension. Glazed timber door set within stucco doorcase. Rendered boundary wall with cast-iron gate to street front. Balustrade to east as boundary. House faces onto River Shannon.

  Quayside and mooring bollards on west side of Shannon, to south side of Roosky bridge, built c.1845. Coursed ashlar walls to quayside with curved edging. Sandstone steps in poor condition from quayside to water beside bridge. Limestone mooring posts to quayside with later cast-iron mooring posts to edge of quayside.

  Freestanding cast-iron water pump, c.1840, no longer in use. Moulded base with fluted shaft. Moulded band to necking. Fluted cap with ball finial. Knob-ended lever handle. Pump on footpath in street.

  Description

  Detached Roman Catholic church, built in 1844. Comprising five-bay nave, flat-roofed side aisles, three-stage tower to east end and sacristy to north-west. Pitched slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with tooled stone quoins and plinth. Ruled-and-lined render to tower with stucco detailing to second stage. Pointed windows doubled to clerestorey and tripled to side aisles. Stained glass and stone sills. Hood mouldings to windows in lower stages of tower, louvred with tolled surrounds to uppermost. Organ gallery to east end. Round columns to arcade to aisles. Flat ceiling. Stained glass to pointed-arched window in south-west wall. Pointed-arched door openings with double timber battened doors and stained glass overlights to east end of side aisles and north and south sides of tower. Graves of previous Parish Priests set around church. Site bounded by stone wall with cast-iron gates to south and wrought-iron pedestrian gate to north.
