  Description

  On a terrace of a gentle NE-facing slope. Circular area (int. diam. 39.5m NE-SW) defined by a stone spread (Wth 2.2m; H 0.3-0.6m) with a later drystone wall (H 1.2m) on its inner edge N-SW.   Description

  On a shelf of the S-facing slope of a drumlin. Circular overgrown area which is unplanted in a coniferous forest (diam. 50m N-S; 47m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.4-0.8m).   Description

  On a shelf of the S-facing slope of a drumlin. Circular overgrown area with mature deciduous trees within a coniferous forest (diam. c. 70m) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 3-4m; int. • RO017-200 Settlement cluster
  Description

  Described as 'Oldtown' in italic lettering on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and depicted as occupied on the 1837 ed. Situated towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope. Depicted on the 1837 and 1914 eds as a curving linear settlement (dims c. 250m N-S; Wth c. 100m E-W) of field boundaries and what may have been a roadway, extending over c. 5 acres (c. 2 ha). There were seven roofless structures with associated small fields or gardens upslope to the W in 1914. No feature is visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture.
