  Description

  In undulating pasture, to W of a low scarp. The rath is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map as an oval raised area. The remains consist of an oval sunken area (20.9m x 19.1m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.5m). The interior is overgrown with vegetation. The rath is adjacent to a football pitch. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). • SL035-027 Sweathouse
  Description

  Listed in both the SMR (1989) and RMP (1995) and classified 'Sweathouse'. In wet upland pasture, on an E-facing slope overlooking the Camoge River 20m to S. It is not marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map. A D-shaped depression (1.5m NE-SW; 1.2m NW-SE; D 0.8m), covered with overgrowth, with an entrance (Wth 0.4m; L 0.75m) on the straight SE side. The sides of the depression are lined with rough courses of unmortared limestone rubble and the base is muddy and covered with limestone rubble.
