Description
Detached multiple-bay three-storey over basement stone former mental hospital, built c. 1852, being converted at time of recording for residential apartments. Symmetrically composed front elevation facing south; forward projecting central five-bay block, four-stage flanking towers, side wings each with two five-bay sections separated by forward-projecting gabled wings with canted bays and terminated at east and west ends by similar, but wider and deeper, wings; further wings extend to sides and rear. Pitched slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, moulded ashlar limestone chimneys on ridge of central block and front elevation of wings, cast-iron moulded gutters. Coursed rubble limestone walling with ashlar dressings including moulded strings, flat quoins, moulded cornices to projecting central, intermediate and terminal wings, pinnacled Dutch gables to wings. Campanile-style flanking towers to central section have deeply coved, cornices surmounted by four-bay blind belfries set behind wrought-iron balustrading with projecting pyramid roofs capped with wood-cored lead sheet and wrought-iron compass finials. Square-headed window openings, painted timber transoms and mullions with plain-glazed sashes behind. Aluminium double-glazed casement windows to wings. Entrance set within single-storey flat-roofed ashlar portico with round-headed arch with alternating projecting and receding voussoirs. Sited on elevated site to north of Sligo town, forms major constituent of group also including Protestant and Catholic chapels.

Description
Detached five-bay single-storey stone chapel, built c. 1846. Rectangular on plan with forward-thrusting portico on west front, chancel with north and south vestries to east. Pitched slate roofs, octagonal louvered ventilator on ridge of main roof with lead capped cupola and onion finial, roll-top clay ridge tiles, moulded cast-iron gutters on moulded stone eaves corbel course. Squared-and-snecked rubble limestone walling; tooled ashlar buttresses with console caps; chamfered plinth; moulded ashlar string course; moulded ashlar frieze below eaves; shaped gables; bellcote on west gable with open bed pediment, round-headed bell opening and surmounting stone cross. Pointed-arch tripartite windows to nave and chancel, hood mouldings, ashlar stone tracery, all glazing missing. Pedimented stone portico with flanking buttresses capped by conical pediments, round-headed entrance opening with alternating projecting and receding voussoirs, square-headed entrance doorway within portico, semi-circular moulded archivolt, carved cross in tympanum, doorway sheeted-over. Located to south-east of main building, opposite Protestant chapel to west.

Description
Detached three-bay single-storey limestone former Protestant chapel, built c. 1855, now being converted to new use. Rectangular on plan with gabled vestry projecting from south-east. Roof currently being reslated, lead-clad louvred ventilator on ridge, moulded cast-iron gutters. Squared-and-snecked rock-faced ashlar walling, splay-capped buttresses, ashlar verge copings, simple stone cross on square pedestal to east gable, moulded corbelled eaves course. Pointed-arch window openings, all glazing removed, timber tracery to west window remains. Pointed-arch entrance door opening, label moulding, doors missing. Panelled ceiling to interior, all other interior details removed. Located to south-west of main building opposite Catholic chapel to east.
