• SL005-054 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise in low lying, gently undulating wet pasture. Slightly raised circular area (dims. 19m N-S; 18m E-W) enclosed by a bank of earth (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.3m). No fosse visible. • SL005-055 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  Situated on level ground in gently undulating pasture 50m to the W of a now derelict farmhouse. Semi-circular area (diam. 30m) enclosed by a rubble limestone bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.7m). No fosse visible. The bank encloses the site SSE-NW and has been removed elsewhere. The external base of the bank is revetted with rubble blocks and slabs laid on edge SW-NW. A modern drystone field wall (T 0.75m; H 1.8m) has been built at the inner base of the bank SSE-NW with ENE-WSW orientated field walls linking to the ends of the cashel bank at NW and SSE.   Description

  Situated on a slight rise in gently undulating pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 29m) enclosed by a bank of rubble limestone (Wth 4.1m; int. H 0.4m). No fosse visible. A modern field wall (T 0.6; H above bank 0.7m) has been constructed on top of the cashel bank on all sides. NNW-SSE orientated field walls link to the outer side of the wall on the cashel bank at NW and at SE. NE-SW orientated field walls link to the outer side of the wall on the cashel bank at WSW and at NE. Original entrance not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
