The proposed development will consist of temporary road widening works, the construction of temporary sections of stoned tracks and other associated accommodation works at the locations noted below. The works consist of: - Temporary works within GAA grounds adjacent to the R692 road in the townland of Kilburry West to include; temporary removal of a section of the boundary wall and entrance gates; temporary removal of block walls within GAA grounds; temporary removal of scoreboard; pitch grass to be covered with protective Aluminium Trackway mats; installation of temporary Heras fencing and access gates; and all other ancillary temporary accommodation works. All temporary works to be reinstated to their existing condition including reinstatement of existing boundary arrangements and treatments following delivery of turbine components. - Tree trimming at Ballycullin Bridge on the R692 road in the townland of Ballycullin. - Temporary widening of section of the R692 road in the townland of Kilvemnon. Works to include construction of temporary section of stoned track; temporary removal of hedging; installation of temporary Heras fencing and access gates; and all other ancillary temporary accommodation works. Description
In grove of mature trees, on a gentle S-facing slope. Identified during excavation of the Cork-Dublin gas pipeline (1981-2) (Cleary et al, 1987, 7) and consisting of an oblong grove (dims. 31m NNE-SSW; 6m ESE-WNW) defined by a low, thin bank of earth all around. A deep drain, running N-S, to immediate E runs into an E-W flowing stream to the S. The monument is respected by a forestry buffer zone (dims. 58m NNE-SSW; 48m ESE-WNW) NE-SE. Description
In improved, level pasture with a stream c. 20m to the NE. The remains of a rectangular area (dims. 38m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) defined by a levelled bank which is reduced to scarp (Wth 5m; H 0.35m) and a fosse (basal Wth 2m; overall Wth 9m; D 0.05m) best defined to SE and SW, yet traceable to NE. The monument has been truncated by a drain and field boundary to the NW. The interior has a very gentle NE-facing slope and the monument is incorporated into the field as pasture. Description
In pasture (silage), on a NE-facing slope. A circular area (dims. c. 42m NE-SW; c. 38m NW-SE) defined by a bank (Wth at top 1.5m; overall Wth 7.2m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.7m) and fosse (basal Wth 2.6m; overall 6.95m; D 1.1m). The bank is particularly substantial (Wth at top 3m; overall Wth 8.9m; int. H 1.2m; ext. H 1.35m) in the W quadrant and is reduced to scarp (Wth 2.5m; H 1m) downslope to NW-N-ENE. There are several gaps in the bank (Wth 2.5m at N; Wth 2.5m at NE; Wth 1.5m at S and Wth 3.5m at NW). The fosse is best preserved ENE-S-WSW and is shallow (basal Wth 1.6m; overall Wth 4.5m; D 0.4m) WSW-W-NW. The outer edge of the monument has been truncated by the remains of an old trackway running NE-SW across the NW sector. The interior is on a NE-facing slope. Description
In forestry, on a gentle ENE-facing slope. Oval area (dims. 32m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by inner scarp (Wth 3.9m; H 1.15m) which is obscured by overgrowth. Intervening fosse (Wth 9.4m; D 1.1m). Outer bank (Wth 5.5m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 0.95m) is only clearly noted SSE-S and at NW. Remains of external fosse (Wth 5.8m; D 0.2m) only visible at S. Causewayed entrance (Wth 6m) at NNE; earthen slippage into fosse on either side increases width of causeway to 10m. Interior slopes downwards gradually to ENE with prevalent slope. Description
Detached three-bay single-storey thatched house, built c. 1800, with ower one-bay single-storey extension to south-west end. Hipped reed thatched roof having brick chimneystack. Pitched slate roof with painted rendered chimneystack to extension. Painted roughcast rendered walls with rendered plinth course. Square-headed openings with replacement timber windows having limestone sills. Square-headed opening with rendered surround having timber battened door. Two-bay single-storey outbuildings to east and west having pitched corrugated-iron roofs. Painted rendered piers having carved stone caps. Painted roughcast rendered boundary walls. Double-leaf cast-iron gates.
