Description
Located on the crest of NE-facing slope with a quarry to the NW. Indicated on both the 1st and latest ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure, the E side of which has been truncated by a field boundary oriented roughly N-S. The site has been levelled and all that survives is a slight rise in ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820. Hipped slate roof with paired carved eaves brackets and rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls with brick surrounds to openings in front elevation. Square-headed six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows with limestone sills. Round-headed doorway having timber panelled door with ornate teardrop fanlight and flanked by recent columns. Yard of outbuildings to side and rear with pitched corrugated-iron and corrugated-asbestos roofs and having rubble limestone walls.
