Situated on flat pasture in undulating countryside with enclosure site (TN008-035) to the S and possible enclosure site (TN008-036002) c. 20m to the SW. Depicted as an oval enclosure with trees in the interior on the 1st ed. (1839-40) OS 6-inch map. Visible on aerial photographs taken in 1974 (GSIAP, R193/S 559). Not visible at ground level. Description
Situated on flat pasture in undulating countryside with enclosure site (TN008-035) to the S and enclosure site (TN008-036001) c. 20m to the NE. Only the W side of this possible site is depicted as a curve in the townland boundary. The E side, if it was an enclosure, is not visible at ground level, nor does it appear on the aerial photographs taken in 1974 (GSIAP, R193/S 559). - TN008-037 Ringfort - rath
Description
Situated in flat pasture in slightly undulating countryside. A raised circular area (diam. 50m NW-SE) enclosed by an earthen tree-lined bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 1-1.5m) with slight traces of an external fosse visible at W and N only. Possible modified entrance gap (Wth 3m) is positioned at E with a modern gap (Wth 1.7m) in the bank at N. Wall-footings of a small stone building are located in the N sector. This was a nineteenth-century stone building associated with the nearby big house to the S.
