  Description

  Situated on flat poorly drained pasture in undulating countryside with the site of a rectangular enclosure (TN010-056) immediately to the N. An aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDL 66) shows a cropmark of a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 16m). Not visible at ground level. • TN015-002 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a low rise on a S-facing slope in tillage. Depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure with field boundaries abutting the S and W sides. On the latest ed. (1903) the E half of the site had been levelled. The outline of the site was revealed as a cropmark on an aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDL 65). Part of a very low bank is descernible at E. The location and depictions suggest a ringfort classification. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.   Description

  Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1870. Now in use as public house. Pitched slate roof having brick chimneystacks. Rendered upper walls, with exposed random limestone to lower. Timber sliding sash one-over-one pane windows with limestone sills. Replacement door. Small forecourt enclosed by lean-to single-storey outbuildings and rubble stone boundary wall.
