• TN032-009 Barrow - stepped barrow
  Description

  Situated on top of a hill in a mountainous region with extensive views. A steep-sided, flat-topped mound (H 5m; diam. 21m NW-SE) with a berm enclosing the base from S through W to NW. A modern quarry has destroyed the E face of the mound. The exposed section revealed no evidence of burials or any archaeological activity.   Description

  Natural rock outcrop acting as a mass-rock that is now located in coniferous plantation which is situated on top of high ground near the edge of a steep drop with panoramic views in all directions especially to the S and E. Nearby sweat-house (TN032-010) located 275m to the SW.
