Description
On a N-facing slope of rising ground in upland area ,in arable land with good views in all directions. Barely visible outline of a levelled rectangular enclosure (approx. dims. 36m N-S x 27m E-W), no other features visible. Monument inspected in 1956 (SMR File) when it was described as a small rectangular enclosure (int. dims. 60m N-S x 40m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (ext. H 0.9m; int. H 0.9m; base Wth 2m) located in tillage field which was later levelled during a land improvement scheme carried out in the same year. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

Description
On slight rise of ground in marshy undulating pasture with good views in all directions, nearby river to W and enclosure (TS049-006----) 300m to N. Monument consists of a low elevated platform bisected by a field boundary on a NE-SW axis. Low circular platform (diam. 26m NE-SW; 18m NW-SE; H 0.7m) defined by a scarp and shallow outer fosse (Wth 1m; ext. D 0.2m) visible only NW through N to NE only. No other features visible. Local farmer says that the enclosure was known locally as a burial mound, field in which the N half of monument is located has never been reclaimed, while the field to the S has been reclaimed resulting in the levelling of the monument on this side. Only the N half of the enclosure is depicted on the OS 6-inch map but traces of the monument are also visible on its southern side. Described in 1956 (OPW file) as a circular platform (diam. 108 ft [35m] N-S) defined by a scarp (H 2ft [0.7m]) and outer fosse ( Wth 12 ft [4m]). No entrance feature visible. Description
Detached T-plan three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1845. Hipped artificial slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks. Painted roughcast rendered walls to first floor, painted smooth render to ground floor, render plinth and quoins. Square-headed openings with timber sliding sash one-over-one pane windows, tripartite to front, having stone sills. Timber panelled door in shallow render surround with moulded cornice, having sidelights and steps. Outbuildings to rear with pitched slate and corrugated-iron roofs and rubble walls. Rendered curving entrance walls and piers with cast-iron gates.
