• TN015-023 Barrow - bowl-barrow
  Description

  Located in a low-lying position, in pasture. A roughly circular, steep-sided, earthen mound (c. 19m E-W; H 3.1m), with some stone protruding, particularly on top at S where a very low, rough stone wall is evident. There has been some slight quarrying S of this feature. The site suffers to some degree from cattle erosion and the base of the mound in the NE quadrant has been slightly truncated. Dumping has taken place along the base at S and in the NE quadrant. Some small trees and nettles are growing on this grass-covered mound, but it is otherwise relatively free of vegetation. • TN015-123 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  Situated on flat poorly drained grassland with good views in all directions. Bowl-barrow (TN015-024----) in field 128m to NE and fulacht fiadh (TN015-124----) to S. Impressive well preserved ring-barrow (overall diam. 60m N-S) consisting of a low circular mound (diam. 23m N-S; H 0.1m) enclosed by a shallow inner fosse (base Wth 4m; top Wth 7m; ext. D 0.1m), earthen bank (top Wth 2.8m; base Wth 9m; ext. H 0.4m), waterlogged outer fosse (base Wth 2.3m; top Wth 4.6m; ext. D 0.2m) with remains of a second earthen bank (Wth 4m; ext. H 0.1m) mainly reduced to a scarp. The enclosing inner bank and external fosse has been damaged on the E side when drainage ditches were cut into the monument in the 19th century.   Description

  Situated on flat poorly drained rushy grassland with good views in all directions. Ring-barrow (TN015-123----) in field 56m to NNW and bowl barrow (TN015-024----) 150m to NNE. Circular shaped mound (diam. 11.9m NE-SW; H 0.5m) with irregular shaped depression (dims. 1.4m x 3.7m x 0.3S) on ESE which may indicate trough area.
