Description
Situated on a slight natural rise in the E corner of a field beside the field boundary to the NE. According to Stout the field is known locally as 'Church Field' and a church is recorded here in the Schools Manuscript (Stout 1984, 105). The field has been reclaimed and two field boundaries to the SW have been levelled. There is no visible trace of the site above ground. Not marked on either the 1st (1840) or the 1904 ed. OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
