Description
In improved pasture, on a gentle W-facing slope. Remains of an oval area (dims. 25m E-W; c. 20 N-S) defined by very faint trace of a curvilinear scarp (Wth 3m; H 0.12m) ENE-NW and is levelled NW-ENE. Interior has a gentle W-facing slope and is incorporated into rest of field as pasture. Field boundary (long-axis NW-SE) is 5m to E. Tertiary road is close to N. Description
In improved pasture, on a gentle WSW-facing slope. Upstanding stone of limestone (H 1.2m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.25-0.35m) is trapezoidal in plan; long-axis ESE-WNW. Roughly rectangular in elevations and reaches a rounded apex. Hollow around base due to trampling by livestock which use this as a scratching post. Five short parallel scores on NNE elevation may be from sharpening. Monument is located on a low, linear bank (Wth 2m; long-axis NE-SW) flanked by a linear depression on either side which may be a former field boundary. Description
In improved pasture, rough and poorly drained in places, situated on a higher part of the field. A standing stone (TS059-096----) is located c. 280m to the N. An upright limestone orthostat (H 1.45m), rectangular in plan (L 0.4m; max. T 0.25m) and orientated with long axis N-S. The stone is generally flat-topped with a slight tilt to the E and has smooth corners worn by livestock. It is surrounded by a gentle hollow (dims. 4m E-W; 3.5m N-S) caused by livestock.
