Description
Located at the crest of the SW-facing slope of a broad hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 41.2m N-S; 40.2m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.5-8.5m; int. H 0.3m at N to 1.2m generally; ext. H 1.7m at E to 3m at W) and outer fosse (Wth of top 5-7m; Wth of base 2.2-2.5m; D 0.5-1m), with an external field bank S-W. The original entrance is not identified. A souterrain (WA034-022002-) is c. 8m W of the centre. Description
Within rath (WA034-022001-), where it is c. 8m W of the centre. Described by Forsayeth (1911a; 1913a) as Z-shaped in plan (L c. 10.65m) with a rectangular chamber (dims. c. 3.4m x c. 1.3m; H c. 1.5m). It is now collapsed, but its outline can be traced.
