  Description

  Situated in pasture. Not depicted on the 1837 OS 6-inch map or the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Monument described in 1977 as a possible souterrain marked with an ‘X’ on the OS working map and not previously recorded (SMR file). The entrance is now partially blocked and it is largely inaccessible. No surface remains visible today on Digital Globe aerial photographs. • WM023-063 Moated site
  Description

  Situated on a low rise, in low-lying and gently undulating pasture with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1977 as a subrectangular-shaped area (33m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) enclosed by an earthen bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank. The inner bank is very low and is best preserved on the S and W sides. An intervening fosse is visible. The outer bank is low and is much degraded in several places. The interior is uneven with a rise towards the centre where there is a house site (WM023-063001-). A very low curved bank is also visible within the interior and may represent the remains of a second house site.   Description

  Situated in low lying, wet pasture. Not depicted on the 1837 OS 6-inch map or the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Monument described in 1981 and 1983 as a roughly rectangular-shaped area (dims. 33m NW-SE; 27m NE-SW) enclosed by a bank and external fosse. The interior is rather uneven and there is a raised area within the W quadrant. The original entrance (Wth 3m) may be at W. A stream running E-W lies immediately to S of the monument which forms the townland boundary with Ardbuckan.
