- WM030-013 Ringfort - rath
Description
Situated on a slight rise, in fairly level pasture, with good views all around. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as an oval-shaped enclosure annotated ‘Mullins Fort'. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as the arc (C 50m N-S) of an earthwork which is incorporated as a curvilinear field boundary (depth of curve 2.5m) from N-E-S. Monument described in 1979 as a partially levelled earthwork which is defined by an arc of bank which is incorporated into a field boundary from N-E-S. The perimeter is defined by faint traces of a low levelled scarp from S-W and is levelled from W-N. The interior is level and featureless. Monument is visible as an angle in a field fence on Digital Globe aerial photography, which represents the former curvilinear bank which appears to have been incorporated into a later field fence. - WM030-014 Ringfort - rath
Description
Situated on a slight rise, in pasture, with extensive views to NE and E. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1979 as a fairly small roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 34m E-W; 25m N-S) defined by a scarp from ENE-E-S-W-N with traces of a low bank from N-ENE. The scarp is best preserved at E and S and is very faint at W and has a disused quarry depression at NW. There is a lot of stone on the scarp but this seems to be a mixture of field clearance stones with some outcrop. There is no indication of an entrance. A modern field fence running NE-SW abuts the perimeter to NW, where the scarp is defaced. The interior is slightly uneven and there are some small areas of outcrop in the NW quadrant and some small field clearance stones scattered elsewhere. There are faint traces of cultivation ridges running ENE-WSW to the immediate S of the monument. Monument is visible today as a very faint oval-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photography. Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1850, having a single-bay gable-fronted entrance porch to the centre of the front façade (east). Single-storey extension to south side with gabled slate roof. Now out of use and derelict. Pitched natural slate roof with a single rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls over smooth rendered plinth course with raised quoins to the corners. Square-headed window openings with rendered reveals, cut stone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed doorcase, set into round-headed opening to porch, having timber panelled door with sidelights and an overlight. Set back from road in mature grounds with single-storey roughcast rendered outbuilding to the south having a pitched natural slate roof. Rendered boundary wall, rendered gate piers (on square-plan) and a wrought-iron gate to the road frontage (east).

Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1840, having a projecting single-bay gable-fronted porch to the centre of the front facade. Pitched natural slate roof having a single central chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls over a smooth plinth with smooth rendered bands to the corners. Square-headed window openings having rendered reveals with one-over-one or two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed opening to porch having a timber sheeted door. Set back from road in own grounds to the northeast of Mount Temple.
