• WM015-021 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating grassland, with good views of the surrounding countryside. Ringfort (WM015-022---) 200m to SW. A slightly raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 36m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) enclosed by a low, poorly preserved earthen bank and a very shallow external fosse. The bank has been reduced to a scarp at E. Low earthen banks (Wth 1-2m) divide the interior into three uneven areas. Monument appears to have been levelled since 1978 as there no traces visible of this monument on Digital Globe aerial photographs. • WM015-023 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise surrounded by gently undulating grassland. A raised sub-circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 38m NW-SE; 28m NE-SW) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a slight external fosse. The bank is best preserved at N and E, and almost reduced to a scarp elsewhere. The interior rises slightly towards the centre. Field fences intersect the perimeter at N, NE, E, SW and NW.   Description

  Description

  Fragmentary remains of a five or six-bay two-storey single-pile rectory, built c.1715. Roof now missing and only three-bays to southeast survive extant. Constructed of rubble limestone with evidence of early lime rendering over. Cut stone quoins to southeast corner at first floor level. Square-headed window openings and a round-headed doorcase with cut limestone surround to centre, fittings now gone. Loop hole openings to rear elevation (south). Set back from road in own grounds.

  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey house with projecting flat-roofed porch to east end, built c.1860. Two-bay single-storey extension to east and single-storey shed to west end. Pitched corrugated-iron roof to main structure with raised verges, cast-iron rainwater goods and central rendered chimneystack. Pitched corrugated-iron roof to shed to west and pitched corrugated asbestos/cement roof to extension to east. Roughcast rendered walls with smooth rendered finish to porch. Square-headed windows with stone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed entrance to porch with glazed timber door. Set back from road in own grounds with rendered boundary wall and rendered gate piers on square-plan to east.
