Description
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as an arc of hachures E-S-W (diam. c. 40m) on the 1940 ed. It is situated at the crest of a low SE-NW ridge. This is a subcircular grass-covered and slightly dished area (dims. 32m NE- SW; 29m NW-SE) defined by a slight scarp NE-S-W, best preserved at SE (H 0.7m). The ringfort site (WX039-033002-) is immediately adjacent to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
