Description
Situated at the S extremity of a natural spur with steep slopes on the S, E and W sides. Circular area (diam. 27.5m) defined by a poorly preserved earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; H 0.25m) and slight traces of an external fosse at the N. No indication of an entrance or internal features. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Description
Situated immediately SW of a hill summit on a gentle S-facing slope. Oval area (dims. 34m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5m; H 0.3-0.9m) and an external fosse (Wth 2.5m; D 0.15m). There is a berm between the bank and fosse NE-S-SW which widens to a maximum width of 4.7m at the E, opposite the entrance in the bank (Wth 2.5m). A causeway (Wth 3m) across the fosse at the NE leads onto the berm and may be an original feature. The interior has a fall of 2m from N to S and there are no other internal features. Description
Situated on a gentle SW-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 34m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-3m; int. H 1.2m at SW - 1.8m at NE; ext. H 1m) and an external fosse (Wth 3m at NE - 5m at SW; D 0.5-1m). The entrance (Wth 3m) is at the SW, and there is a modern gap at the SE. There are two rectangular structures (dims. 16.8m x 6.5m, and 11m x 4m) defined by low narrow banks in the interior (possibly not contemporary).
