• WI029-001 Megalithic structure
  Description

  Situated on the eastern slopes of Kirikee Mountain. Marked as 'Giant's Grave' on the 1838 OS 6-inch map and as 'Giant's Grave (Site of)' on the current edition. The site is now under forest. No visible remains. (Borlase 1897, 413) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). • WI029-002 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a gentle N/NE-facing slope overlooking marshy ground. Circular area (diam. 22.7m) defined at the W by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1m), and elsewhere by a scarp (H 0.8m). There is a slight indication of an external fosse (Wth 2m) at the NW but this may be a drain to the stream which runs E-W 5m from the N edge of the site. No indication of an entrance or internal features. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). • WI029-011 Bullaun stone
  Description

  One of two boulders (see also WI029-011001-), each with two basins, previously described by Price (1959, 164, no. 11). On low-lying, overgrown and wooded ground, islanded by small streams flowing into a larger stream to the N and c. 10m N of a ringfort (WI029-002----). An earthfast granite boulder (dims. L 1.7m NE-SW; Wth 1.2m; H 0.5m) bears two oval basins; the smaller (max. diam. 0.28m; D 0.075m) just SW of the larger (max. diam. 0.4m; D 0.13m). The second bullaun stone (WI029-011001-) was not located.
