  Description

  Wheeler (OPW files, 1957) describes about twenty extended human skeletons in good condition found during the extraction of sand from a low sandhill. There was no evidence for an enclosure or grave-markers. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).   Description

  Three arch humpback road bridge over the Slaney River, built c.1800. The bridge is constructed in rubble with dressed granite voussoirs to the segmental arches and dressed granite cutwaters. The parapets are also in rubble and have rough granite coping.
