  Description

  Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope in a wheat field, just below the crest of a NNE-SSW ridge. Marked on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped enclosure (dims. 50m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE). Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Architectural heritage

• Avoca Methodist Church, church/chapel, 1835–1845 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey over basement Methodist church, built 1840. The church is finished in render with stone dressings. The timber sheeted door is flanked by plain pilasters and has a semi-circular arched radial fanlight. Windows are semi-circular arched and have metal multiple pane frames with margins. There is a small roundel window above the entrance. The pitched roof is finished with natural slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods. The church is at the side of the road and is slightly set back behind wrought-iron railings with square gate pillars.

• Meetings Bridge, bridge, 1750–1770 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding three-arch road bridge, built c.1760 and widened in c.1820. The structure is constructed in granite rubble with roughly hewn voussoirs and copings. It carries the main road over the Avonbeg river. Nearby is a monument to the poet Thomas Moore (1779-1852).
