Description
Situated on a gentle SW-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 26m) defined by a stony bank (Wth 2-3.2m; int. H 0.4-0.9m; ext. H 0.9-1.6m) with slight traces of an external fosse (Wth c. 3.35m) at the NE (upslope). The entrance (Wth 2m) is at the SW. No indication of internal features. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Description
Detached four-bay single-storey thatched house with attic, built c.1800, but extensively refurbished and attic storey added c.1995. The walls are rendered and painted whilst the gable-ended pitched roof is thatched and has Velux windows and rendered parapets. The entrance consists of a replacement timber tongue and groove door and the flat-headed windows have replacement uPVC frames. The house is set within a small walled enclosure, which also includes a small single storey outbuilding; the enclosure may have been created at the same time as the refurbishment of the house.
